For candidates
A season in Cyprus, without the guesswork.
Working a hotel season abroad should not mean signing something you cannot read, arriving to housing nobody described, or finding out the pay is different from what you were told. HostLaneCY exists to remove exactly those three problems.

How it works
Six steps from first message to first shift
Most candidates go from initial contact to a signed contract in three to five weeks. Non-EU applicants should allow longer for the permit, which is why we push people to apply in winter rather than in May.
- 01
Send your CV or just a message
No account, no fee, no long form. Tell us what you have done — hotel, café, retail, care, kitchen — which languages you speak, and the earliest date you could start in Cyprus.
- 02
A 20-minute video call with a consultant
We work out which department suits you and what is realistic. If your English needs work for front office, we will say so and point you at housekeeping or F&B instead — with a route back later.
- 03
Pre-season training
Two to five days in Limassol or Paphos, or online if you are applying from abroad. Service standards, hotel English, food hygiene basics and what a Cyprus property expects on day one.
- 04
Interview with the property
We arrange it, prepare you for it, and tell you afterwards exactly why it did or did not work. Most candidates interview with two or three properties before matching.
- 05
Contract, permit, accommodation
We read the contract with you, start the permit file if you need one, and confirm your housing, its cost and its distance from the property in writing before you travel.
- 06
Your consultant stays with you
Through the whole season. Rota problems, pay queries, housing issues, or a supervisor who is out of line — you message your consultant, and we deal with the property directly.
Our promises
Four things we will not do to you
Hospitality recruitment has a reputation, and it is not always undeserved. These are the commitments we put in writing to every candidate we represent.
- We never charge candidates a fee — our employers pay us, and it is illegal in Cyprus to charge you anyway
- We tell you the pay band before the interview, not after the offer
- We do not send you to a property we have not visited
- If a contract is worse than what you were promised, we renegotiate it or we pull the placement

Languages
Which languages get you hired here
English is the working language of almost every Cyprus property. Beyond that, the guest mix decides: Russian and Hebrew in Limassol and Ayia Napa, Polish and German in Paphos, Greek everywhere for internal communication and supplier contact. A second language typically adds €80–€150 a month to a front-of-house offer.

Questions we get every week
- Do I need hotel experience?
- For housekeeping, kitchen support and most F&B roles, no. Attitude, reliability and basic English matter more, and our pre-season course covers the rest. Guest relations and front office roles usually need at least one prior season or strong customer-facing experience.
- I am not an EU citizen. Can I still work in Cyprus?
- Often yes, but it depends on the role, the property and current quota rules. Cyprus permits for hospitality are employer-sponsored, so the property applies with you. We prepare the file, but we will be straightforward with you about timelines — a permit lodged in February is very different from one lodged in June.
- How long is a season?
- Ayia Napa and Protaras typically run May to October. Paphos and Limassol run longer — March to November, and some city properties are year-round. If you need twelve months of work, tell us and we will look at the year-round contracts first.
- Is accommodation really included?
- In most seasonal placements, yes — either a shared staff apartment or a monthly housing allowance. It is never assumed: the offer letter states which one applies, what is deducted and what is provided.
- What if the job is not what I expected?
- Tell your consultant in the first fortnight. We will either fix it with the property or move you. That is why we keep the relationship going after placement instead of closing the file.
